One of the selling points about the Citibank Platinum Card is that is offers a 3.9% lifetime balance transfer rate. That alone is hard to beat no matter who you are. The card is designed for customers with an overall good credit history and an annual income of $50,000. It is on a more elite level than some other Citibank cards but is still attainable.
With the Citibank Platinum card, you get a slew of features such as 24/7 concierge service anywhere in the world. You also get coverage from international travel insurance which protects you from cancelled flights or lost or stolen items.
The Citibank Platinum Card includes reward points that can be used for flights, upgrades at hotels, cash back or exchanged for Qantas Frequent Flyer miles. Reward points can be earned at a rate of one point for every dollar spent and you can accumulate up to 120,000 points every year. The best thing about the reward points is they don’t expire so you don’t have to use them if you don’t want to.
The Citibank Platinum Card has a high annual fee of $250.00 and a interest rate of 20.74%. Which is really not that significant if you use your card enough and spend your points responsibly. If you do that, you can easily get your money reimbursed.
All of these features make for a truly great card. However, there is only one thing to be careful of and that is the transfer balance. With the 3.9% lifetime transfer balance rate, credit card payments will be applied to your transferred balance before any of your other purchases. The best thing to do would be to immediately pay off the transferred balance or you’ll end up paying the 20.74% interest rate on the rest of your purchases.
